ZiPToDo is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how ZiPToDo, a Chrome extension, collects, uses, and protects your data. By using ZiPToDo, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

1. Data We Collect

ZiPToDo collects the following types of data to provide its functionality:

• User-Generated Content: When you add tasks or reminders, ZiPToDo stores the task descriptions, reminder dates/times, and recurring settings. This data may include personally identifiable information (e.g., names, email addresses, or addresses) or personal communications (e.g., a task to send an email or text) if you choose to include such information in your task descriptions.
• Metadata: ZiPToDo stores metadata such as task IDs, completion status, and timestamps to manage your tasks and reminders effectively.

We do not collect any other types of data, such as health information, financial information, location data, web history, or user activity (e.g., clicks or keystrokes).

2. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely to provide the functionality of ZiPToDo, including:

• Displaying your tasks and reminders in the extension’s interface.
• Scheduling and sending notifications for reminders.
• Syncing your tasks across devices if Chrome Sync is enabled.

We do not use your data for any purposes unrelated to ZiPToDo’s functionality, such as advertising, analytics, or profiling.

3. Data Storage and Syncing

ZiPToDo uses the chrome.storage.sync API to store your tasks and reminders. If you have Chrome Sync enabled, this data may be synced across your devices via Google’s servers. This syncing is managed by Chrome and is subject to Google’s Privacy Policy. We do not have access to or control over this syncing process beyond what is provided by the Chrome API.

4. Third-Party Sharing

We do not share your data with third parties, except as required for the extension’s functionality (e.g., syncing via Chrome Sync, which is an approved use case). ZiPToDo loads the Montserrat font from Google Fonts to style the UI, but no user data is sent to Google Fonts during this process.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored securely using Chrome’s storage API. We do not have access to your data beyond what is necessary to provide the extension’s functionality. However, as with any online service, no method of storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

6. Your Control Over Your Data

You can manage or delete your data at any time by:

• Removing individual tasks within the ZiPToDo interface.
• Clearing your browser’s storage, which will delete all data associated with ZiPToDo.

If Chrome Sync is enabled, deleting data on one device will also remove it from other synced devices.

7. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any updates will be posted on this page, and the “Last Updated” date will be revised accordingly. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
